Mobile Backhaul over DSL/SHDSL
Enable mobile backhaul over DSL to reduce last mile transport costs and connect to new packet-switched networks over ADSL2+, SHDSL and SHDSL.bis links.
RAD’s DSL cell-site gateways enable mobile operators and transport providers to substantially reduce backhaul costs by leveraging wholesale xDSL deployments and widely available IP DSLAMs to carry GSM and UMTS traffic over PSNs. In rural areas where DSLAMs are not available, RAD’s SHDSL.bis modems use EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) bonding to combine two, three or four SHDSL or SHDSL.bis pairs into a single point-to-point data stream, with a combined data rate of up to 22 Mbps.
-
Pseudowire emulation and accurate clock recovery to ensure quality delivery of all traffic types
-
Support service extension in rural areas with direct point-to-point connections
-
QoS capabilities for service differentiation
-
EFM bonding enables high data rates over multiple copper pairs with fail-over protection for service resiliency
